ROLEX MIDDLE SEA RACE

ANARCHY & THE MIDDLE SEA
It's the Mediterraneans Fastnet. A 600Nm epic from and to Malta around Sicily.
Described as the worlds most beautiful race course it takes the fleet up through
the Messina straits, around Stomboli an active volcano. Along the northern
coast of Sicily then down to the small island of Lampedusa before finishing
back in Valletta Malta.
Easy to get to with flights available from Easy Jet & most European carriers. Its warm, sunny and the perfect sailing adventure to close up the season.
Training:
Join us from the 13th October for a couple of days training so we are race ready for the start on Saturday.
Lay Day:
Rest up as you are about to set off on an epic. Check your kit, we will stock the boat with provisions and carry out final checks, weeks and adjustments before the off.
Start:
You got too handed it to them. The starting guns are impressive. We race out of Valletta Harbour North to the Messina Straits between Italy & Sicily, tricky currents here and hope we don't get light airs. Just take it all in the scenery is stunning.
The Race:
We will be on a watch system racing as a TEAM, we don't take passengers nor do we use you as rail meat. Fatigue creeps in together with sleep deprivation. Keep smiling, sing a little, crack a few jokes, have a brew. We pull together, we sail together. We are one big family.
Finish:
You will like the finish. There is nothing better than finishing an offshore epic. The sense of achievement, relief, satisfaction, that first distant glimpse of the beer tent. Well done you, well done TEAM

EXPERIANCE REQUIRED
Absolutely none.
We are a TEAM so we guide and help each other through the race. Some of the crew will be more capable and experienced than others. You learn as you go. We will include two training days. We will all get use to each other, our strengths and weaknesses, how we respond to fatigue and sleep deprivation, how many sugars you take in your tea. All the little things that are 'as important' as your skill development. We will learn to communicate, work together, look out for each other, laugh together, get cold and wet together, soak up the sunshine together.

Smoother hull, new electronics and all kit replace when needed including halyards, sheets etc.
We will always present the yacht in the best possible condition so there are no excuses on the water.
Ultimately we are a TEAM and regardless of your previous experience you will become a key member of the TEAM.
