Canary Island Raid

Monday 15th November 2021

.Anarchy Sailing invites you to join us for a blast down the North African

coast from Gibraltar to Lanzarote.

The Starting point:

The event sets off in November planned for the 15th.

You will need to be flexible as we will have one eye on the weather to ensure

a safe passage.

Last year we picked up some biggish seas but with the wind behind us we flew all the way down in 5 days.

The weather gets warmer as you head down although mid  November is not quite Tee Shirt weather in Gibraltar.

You can arrive a few days early to explore the rock. I highly recommend it, the tunnels  are amazing. Apparently there are 40 miles of them carved through Gibraltar, most as a consequence of the second world war.

No tempting stopovers on the way down so we will do it in one hit and give bar a pasting once our feet hit the shore.

End Point:

Lanzarote & Puerto de Calero. Its new to us as we normally participate in the ARC which starts in Las Palmas Grand Caneria.

This year however we plan to participate in the RORC Transatlantic Race which does not start till January from Puerto Calero.

This gives us an ideal base to explore the islands in December and spend some time preparing the yacht for the Transatlantic.

No rush to kick you off, spend a few days with us and depart at your leisure. Flights are frequent and cheap.

EXPERIANCE REQUIRED

No experience is required as we will sail at a pace to complete a safe passage.

However you do need to be physically fit. We don't mean like a pro or even a weekend jogger. Just a good standard of well being.

Sailing requires physical effort so you got to be able to move around, pull on ropes (we don't call them ropes).

In return for your given experience level we will do our best to expand that for you.

We don't treat our crew as rail meat. This is an opportunity to learn through experience. You will be asked to be involved in all aspects of sailing a yacht on a passage including helm and navigation with guidance and us by your side.

HOW TO BOOK

Well as you are reading this you must have a Computer, Tablet or a Smartphone or some magical device we are oblivious too.

So given your a tech wizard try one of these:

EMAIL:    skipper@anarchysailing.co.uk

PHONE:  +44(0)77870403888

We genuinely discourage the use of Semaphore (waving flags around), morse code by lamp or telegraph, Smoke Signals, Chinese Whispers or "my mates ask me to ask you"

Or use our carefully grafted form below and we will get back to you.

Please Note

By the nature of our business we are often on the water and don't man a full time office. Once about 5-10 miles offshore telephone signal is at best poor.

We therefore can't always provide an immediate response but we do promise to get back to you. We want your custom.

Anarchy Sailing is about fun first.

That said we love to race and we love to beat our rivals.

Each year we invest more into our yachts.

Sails, sail configuration to optimise performance against rating.

Smoother hull, new electronics and all kit replace when needed including halyards, sheets etc.

We will always present the yacht in the best possible condition so there are no excuses on the water.

Ultimately we are a TEAM and regardless of your previous experience you will become a key member of the TEAM.

Remember      Life's a riot
